João Paulo II University Library's mission is to support the Academic Community, promoting bridges with the Faculties and Research Units, through constant dialogue, adjusting its services to the needs of the collaborators, students, researchers, teachers, without forgetting external users.

Since the foundation of the Library, it provides an open-access philosophy regarding the information resources, focused in the autonomy of their users regardless of the different cycles of study, to train and empower them in the use of traditional and digital resources.

The Library has a very rich and diversified collection resulting from donations that have been made throughout the years. We highlight the theology fund, the Göerres collection, centered on the work of Father António Vieira, Ruy Cinatti's personal archive and António Sardinha and Eduardo Coelho Memorial Libraries.
