Ethics Committees

The CARE - Católica Research community currently has two Ethics Committees. The Ethics Committee for Health (CES) and the Ethics Committee for Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities (CETCH).

The Ethics Committee for Health of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (CES-UCP) had its inauguration on January 29, 2019, at the Rectory of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Lisbon. The designation of its members was approved by the Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), through Dispatch no. 0386/2019.

In response to the recurring requests submitted by the UCP's Research Centers and PhD Programs, the Ethics Committee: Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities (CETCH) was appointed for the biennium 2022-2023, in addition to the Ethics Committee for Health.
