SimSchool PreMed | 5ª Edição

Monday, March 25, 2024 - 10:00 - Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - 18:00

Hospital da Luz

Católica Medical School is organising SimSchool for secondary school students from March 25 to 27, which is intended to be an intensive week of immersion in different experiences in clinical areas at the Hospital da Luz Learning Health simulation centre.

SimSchool represents an opportunity for students and young people – for some probably the first – to practice approaching patients in medical consultations and in the emergency room in a safe and controlled simulation environment. Here you will be able to acquire the basic fundamentals, perform essential techniques for managing these cases and, in critical situations, apply CRM principles to improve skills that contribute to teamwork, such as communication and leadership.

Throughout this program, students will have different experiences:

  • Medical consultation for simulated patients, where the clinical history is taken, interprets exams and has access and records data in the clinical process;
  • Training of non-technical skills for teamwork;
  • Approaching a victim in cardiorespiratory arrest and resuscitation maneuvers;
  • Interactive sharing of a doctor's experience;
  • Coaching sessions for admission to medical school - how to get into a top medical school?;
  • Networking with medical students.
